mucommander - winscp or totalcommander alternative in linux
Mucommander is a cross platform file manager. If you usually use norton commander or total commander in Windows, then this application is the alternative for that. It running on linux, windows and Mac OS and using with java platform.It have multifunction and different from other file manager and it very powerfull too. it support FTP, SFTP, SMB, NFS, HTTP and Bonjour and it can browse to file like ZIP, RAR, TAR, GZip, BZip2, ISO/NRG, AR/Deb and LST without extracting them first.It can doing compress in format ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2, and TAR.To install it, make sure yo already have java installed. Just type java in your terminal to check if there is java installed. if it java not found, the you must installed it first.

cause i’m using ubuntu, i download mucommander on .deb format. download just installed it with command :
sudo dpkg -i mucommander_0.8.3_all.deb
After install, to run mucommander, just type this in terminal :
sh /usr/share/mucommander/mucommander.sh
To make you easy, you can create shortcut in your desktop. Right click on your desktop, choose create launcher. the type is application. then in command, type sh /usr/share/mucommander/mucommander.sh
