How to install flashget in ubuntu
Tested on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and gutsy 7.10, Flashget 1.7.3 on acer
What your prefer download manager ??? If You ask me when i’m using windows, i will say it flashget v.1.73 . Why ? Cause flashget give many future, specially when download file from rapidshare.com. Now i;m using ubuntu, but i’m still how to use flashget on my ubuntu. The important thing that we can do before installing flashget in ubuntu is installing wine . wine ??? did you say a drink ??? no. it’s an application to make windows application can compatible with linux. On it repository it say :
Wine is a compatibility layer for running Windows applications on Linux. Applications are run at full speed without the need of cpu emulation. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, however it can use native system dll files in place of its own if they are available.
The command is :
sudo apt-get install wine
For flashget, just download the execute file from flashget website.
Change your directory to the directory where you save flashget execute file
the command to install just :
wine flashget.exe
When installing it, you can choose to make shorcut/launcher or not. If any problem, just drop here ..

For me works like charm. No problems at all during installation and when downloading. As fast as on Windows. Far better than JDwonloader.Comment posted using
