Download Email from Gmail in Evolution On Ubuntu 8.04
This is the step , how to download email from gmail using evolution mail . It working ubuntu 9.04 and ubuntu 8.04.
1. Open Evolution Mail
2. Choose Edit - Preferences
3. In Mail Accounts’ , choose add,
- Choose Forward and fill the email form with the address of your email in Gmail ( for reply to form, input your email again, for organization - just type what ypur organization ) Then Choose Forward

For the configuration menu
server : pop.gmail.com:995
email : youremail@gmail.com
On Security Menu choose SSL Encryption
On Authentication Type choose Password
Then Forward

- For receiving options, it’s up to you. You can skip it , if you want
- On Sending Mail Option,
Choose
Server Type : smtp
On Server configuration, input :
Server : smtp.gmail.com:465
There is another cannot use this port , but it work when using port 587.
Server : smtp.gmail.com:587
Give a check on Server request authentication
On Secure connection, choose SSL Encryption
On Authentication type choose plain and fill username with your email in gmail

are you sure you have follow the configuration ?. Cause i have use this config and success to send and receive.

As no where it ask for gmail password so how it will work?? I think i didn’t give my gmail password so i am unable to enjoy this feature…Comment posted using
