Installing Picasa photo viewer for ubuntu linux
By Default, in Windows XP, The Picasa Photo Viewer is installed with Picasa and lets you quickly view, edit or share photos on your computer desktop or while navigating your hard drive. You can set the Picasa Photo Viewer to be the default photo viewer for all photo file types supported by Picasa.
But If we install picasa on linux ubuntu using my past article, there’s no picasa photo viewer included. I think, picasa photo viewer is one of the feature that you needed to see view your picture nicely.
I’am already test the picasa photo viewer on my ubuntu 8.04 and 9.04, so i thinks it’s secure.
First of all, is downloading the debian package here, Keep in mind that this photo viewer support for picasa 3.0
Just run the installer :
sudo dpkg -i PicasaPhotoViewer-1.0.3.deb
To use Photo Viewer inside Gnome Nautilus right click on the file (with file type you want to associate with Picasa Photo Viewer) Open with > Open with other application… > Use a custom command > PicasaPhotoViewer
That’s all
