Install Amarok as mp3 player in Ubuntu karmic
Amarok is easy to use media player based on the KDE 4 technology platform Amarok is a powerful music player with an intuitive interface. It makes playing the music you love and discovering new music easier than ever before and it looks good doing it! Amarok is based on the powerful Qt4 / KDE4 technology platform and nicely integrates with KDE desktop.
Much work has been invested into integrating Amarok 2 with various Web services:

Amarok comes with a lot of features including but not limited to:

In Ubuntu karmic, default media player is Rhytmbox Music Player. But It’s features not to much as amarok has. So I Suggested to you to Install amarok as your media player. Amarok is like Itunes in Windows with many features that you can read in the text before.
To Install it, we can use simple command :
sudo apt-get install amarok
It will download about 70 Mb file that needed to run amarok.
First time you open amarok, you can not play mp3 file, so you must download/ Install the codec first :
sudo apt-get install libxine1-ffmpeg
After that you can restart amarok , and open it again, you just needed to browse where your music collection , and let amarok do the rest
