enjoy your music with amarok in linux

Tested on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and Gutsy 7.10

Have you try amarok. Amarok as it say in web is a powerful music player for linux and unix .Amarok is a default player for kde desktop like kubuntu, opensuse, and other ( Ubuntu with Kde ). but we can install it on ubuntu based gnome.
Amarok have many future that must be needed by music lover. Example :

1. Lyric browsing automatically from lyricwiki , lyrics, and other lyric provider.
2. Art cover browse automatically from amazon
3. Save lyric that we has been browse to database manager like mysql or sqllite, so when you don’t have internet connection , you still can see the lyric.
4. Artist and album divided on good composition

And many other function, that we can dig from it.

Setting Proxy Amarok in Ubuntu hardy

Untuk yang menggunakan Kubuntu, pasti telah terbiasa menggunakan amarok sebagai player mp3nya. Kita tidak perlu melakukan settingan tambahan agar bisa terhubung ke wikipedia ataupun fasilitas lain seperti Download style2nya yang lain. Tapi kalau di ubuntu ( Kalau internetannya via proxy ), fungsi akses informasi artis ke wikipedia ataupun download new stylenya tidak berfungsi. Informasi yang paling sering muncul adalah server is not reachable. Ini biasanya dikarenakan settingan proxy yang berbeda antara kubuntu dan Ubuntu. sehingga di Ubuntu kita harus setting proxy khusus bagi amarok. Pada PCku, saya melakukan :

1) Bersihkan semua settingan proxy dalam konfigurasi amarok
2) Edit ~/.kde/share/config/kioslaverc dan tambahkan settingan berikut :

[Proxy Settings][$i]
ProxyType=1
httpProxy=http://username:password@proxyserver:port/
httpsProxy=http://username:password@proxyserver:port/
ftpProxy=http://username:password@proxyserver:port/

3) Save file tersebut dan restart amarok
