Instalasi Windows XP di Compaq CQ20-412

Secara default, bawaan Operating System untuk Compaq CQ20-412TU adalah Windows Vista dan dapat diupgrade ke Windows 7 . Tapi bagi anda yang telah terbiasa menggunakan Operating System Windows XP, hal ini akan menjadi masalah. Rata -rata keluaran Compaq terbaru tidak menyediakan CD driver bawaaan, dan jika anda mengunduh/download software dan driver dari Situs HP/Compaq, anda akan kesulitan untuk mencari yang kompatible dengan Laptop anda

Hal ini terjadi pada saya, ketika hendak melakukan downgrade. Booting dari CDRom Bawaannya juga tidak bisa. Akhirnya saya menggunakan CD ROm Portable untuk booting Windows XP  SP2 yang terlebih dahulu telah saya isikan/compile Driver Sata didalamnya

Install OpenOffice3.1 pada Ubuntu 8.04 tanpa repository

Bagi pengguna ubuntu 8.04 dan 8.10 , belum tersedia paket repository khusus untuk openoffice3. paket yang ada hanya openoffice versi 2.4
Download OpenOffice.3 dari http://download.openoffice.org/other.html#en-US ( Pilih paket debian dan pastikan anda mengetahui sistem yang anda pakai, 32 bit or 64 bit )
jika anda yakin menginginkan menggunakan openoffice 3.0, anda sebaiknya menghapus/meremove dulu openoffice versi 2.4, caranya :

sudo aptitude remove ~nopenoffice.org

setelah itu Extract paket .deb.tar.gz

tar -zxvf *.deb.tar.gz

How to install flashget in ubuntu

Tested on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and gutsy 7.10, Flashget 1.7.3 on acer

What your prefer download manager ??? If You ask me when i’m using windows, i will say it flashget v.1.73 . Why ? Cause flashget give many future, specially when download file from rapidshare.com. Now i;m using ubuntu, but i’m still how to use flashget on my ubuntu. The important thing that we can do before installing flashget in ubuntu is installing wine . wine ??? did you say a drink ??? no. it’s an application to make windows application can compatible with linux. On it repository it say :

Wine is a compatibility layer for running Windows applications on Linux. Applications are run at full speed without the need of cpu emulation. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, however it can use native system dll files in place of its own if they are available.
