How to install Ubuntu on Axioo TVS

2 bulan yang lalu, teman saya menginstall ubuntu di Laptop Axioo TVSnya. Waktu itu, saya berencana menginstalkan ubuntu intrepid pada Axiio tersebut. Tapi setiap booting awal menggunakan liveCD untuk instalasi, booting selalu gagal/berhenti pada logo Ubuntu/splashscreen. setelah nanya kesana kemari dan cari di google, ternyata dapat satu solusi yaitu melakukan centang/check pada option tertentu saat booting CD. Settingannya yaitu berikan tanda :

no apic nolapic

pada option saat booting live CD Ubuntu

Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock

when i want to install cairo-dock, i get this error. This is because I am stop the download process while it download package :

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

E: Could not get lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the download directory

Printer Canon i255 di Ubuntu Linux

Berikut sedikit tips untuk menginstall printer Canon i255 pada OS Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10.
Pada saat kita menginstall Ubuntu 7.10, Biasanya aplikasi cups telah diikutkan dengan CD tersebut. Jika belum ada maka kita dapat menginstallnya menggunakan perintah :
sudo apt-get install cupsys
1. Pertama download drivernya
Silahkan ambil cari dibagian Tab Download :

Download

2. File drivernya adalah bjfiltercups-2.3-0.i386.deb dan bjfilteri255-2.3-0.i386.deb
3. Cek Apakah device USB printernya telah connect. perintanya di terminal Command :
/usr/sbin/lsusb
Contoh :
dedyisn@dedyisn-ubuntu:~$ /usr/sbin/lsusb
Bus 004 Device 005: ID 152d:2338
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 067b:2507 Prolific Technology, Inc.
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 04a9:2220 Canon, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04a9:1085 Canon, Inc.
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 03eb:0902 Atmel Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
4. Kalau sudah terdetect biasanya ada tulisan seperti ini :
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 04a9:1085 Canon, Inc.
ID 04a9 adalah vendor ID, dan 1085 adalah product ID
5. Setelah itu lakukan instalasi :
dpkg -i bjfiltercups-2.3-0.i386.deb
dpkg -i bjfilteri255-2.3-0.i386.deb
Sesuaikan lokasi dari tempat anda menyimpan file bjfiltercups-2.3-0.i386.deb dan bjfilteri255-2.3-0.i386.deb
