Secara default, Flash player belum terinstall di Ubuntu 9.10. Jika anda masih memiliki ubuntu 9.10 fresh install. maka terlebih dahulu anda perlu melakukan update :
sudo apt-get update
Untuk menginstall Flash player, gunakan perintah :
sudo apt-get install flashplayer-installer
Atau
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
Atau
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
Perintah ini akan mendownload paket flashplayer-installer beserta paket flashplugin berukuran sekitar 3,8 Mb

Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala ) now available for request. Just browse to ubuntu and go to request free CD. It’s about six week, that the CD will come to our home
What are you waiting.. it’s free. But if you want to try it quickly , you must waiting until 30 Okt 2009 and download the ISO file

Bagi pengguna ubuntu 8.04 dan 8.10 , belum tersedia paket repository khusus untuk openoffice3. paket yang ada hanya openoffice versi 2.4
Download OpenOffice.3 dari http://download.openoffice.org/other.html#en-US ( Pilih paket debian dan pastikan anda mengetahui sistem yang anda pakai, 32 bit or 64 bit )
jika anda yakin menginginkan menggunakan openoffice 3.0, anda sebaiknya menghapus/meremove dulu openoffice versi 2.4, caranya :
sudo aptitude remove ~nopenoffice.org
setelah itu Extract paket .deb.tar.gz
tar -zxvf *.deb.tar.gz
